Accreditation

The training can be accredited by the Open College Network. The unit, which was devised by Kate Betts herself, is called "Introduction to Dealing with the Media."

It covers a basic understanding of how the media works and interview techniques.

Kate Betts Media have worked successfully with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to help dozens of their staff gain the OCN credit.

They have also run courses at Northern College, alongside former MP Helen Jackson, which were accredited by the OCN.

Organisations must be registered OCN-approved training providers and the sessions must be at least one day long and have more than one trainee to comply with the OCN's requirements.

Kate Betts Media are also happy to work with organisations who want the participants to attain certain in-house learning outcomes and objectives. They are experienced at designing training to meet such requirements and at providing evidence of learning.
